In 1858 when the Cottam family began manufacturing brushes the traditional industries in the area were ship building and coal mining. Times have changed and these industries are scarce in the UK today. Yet through adaptation and a willingness to explore new markets Cottam Brush Ltd, as the company is now known, have survived and almost 150 years later are at the forefront of brush design and manufacture.

Today the company is run by the 6th generation of the Cottam family and although the methods of manufacture may have changed drastically over the last 150 years the company’s principles remain the same – to supply our customers with what they want, free from defects and on time.
