STEP Awards
We’ve been shortlisted for 2 prestigious STEP Business Awards this year.  We’ll find out on the night (2nd July) whether we have won in the categories “Excellence in Customer Service” and “Manufacturer of the Year”.  Fingers crossed!!

Did you know?
We work closely with local schools and colleges.  We do this to promote engineering, manufacturing and design as exciting career opportunities which helps us get the right people and skills into our business in the future.  This month we’ve had Bedewell Primary School and Thornaby School (see pictures above) visit our factory.  We also took an interactive manufacturing demonstration into Bedewell so that students could make their very own brush!

Sue will be leaving us later this week after joining us whilst Dawn was on Maternity leave.  Thanks Sue; it’s been a pleasure work with you!

Bank of England
We joined the North East Chamber of Commerce Bank of England panel this month.  David Cottam will meet quarterly with a representative from the Bank of England to put forward our views on the economy.

Business Growth
We have been working through our business growth plan with the help of Paul Wright Associates Ltd.  This is a 6 month project where we will be analysing every aspect of our business and looking for opportunities to improve.  We’re finished stage one and are now starting to plan how our business will look in the future.  See updates in future newsletters and tell us what YOU think by emailing news@cottambrush.com

Vodafone
We feature in the new Vodafone advertising campaign.  Vodafone were looking for a bright and modern industrial premises to shoot their latest advert and came to us.

Shell Step
